This was my great grandfather’s hotel. Theophile Mallette came from Edmonton, Alberta about 1903 and ran a hotel and livery service for several years. He ran a hotel in Edmonton called the Commercial Hotel. In Yakima his youngest son used to run lunches in pails over to the train station when the trains would come in. Theophile was originally from Quebec and never learned to speak English. However he was always known as an astute businessman. His son-in-law ran a billiard’s hall near the hotel and later a Cigar shop.
